Ty Butterfield is the President of Mel Butterfield & Son Insurance Agency, Inc. He is the third generation of the family owned business. Ty began his insurance career in 1978 after graduating from Miami University (OH), and has been serving the Lima and surrounding area for over 30 years. He purchased the agency from his father Joe in 1992. Along with his “Property and Casualty” license, Ty is also a licensed life insurance agent and handles personal life insurance and Long Term Care needs. |

“Chrys” joined the Butterfield Agency in 1988. She received her Property & Casualty insurance license in 1990. Chrys handles the agency accounting and assists with commercial lines. During her career at the agency, she has worked in every area of the insurance business. Chrys is a 1983 graduate of Lima Senior High School and in 1988 she received an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Northwestern Business College. Chrys lives in Lima and enjoys spending time with her two sons, Frank and Michael. |

Cynthia started her insurance career with the Butterfield Agency in October of 2000. She obtained her Property and Casualty license in 2004. Cynthia spends most of her time assisting with claims at the agency and works with clients, contractors, body shops, and adjusters to help settle claims efficiently. Cynthia is a 1998 graduate of Elida High School. She furthered her education at Lima Technical College where she studied Legal Assisting and received an Associate’s Degree of Applied Business. She married Brian Kennedy in October of 2006. She has a step-son, Landon, who was born in 2002 and a son Brandt, who was born in 2009. She enjoys bowling and spending time with her family. Cynthia looks forward to helping you with all of your insurance needs. |

Jane Butterfield-Kennedy has been a part of the family business for over 10 years. Jane works full time in the personal lines department, and is the helping hand for all that needs done. She is knowledgeable in all aspects of personal lines and is instrumental in processing personal lines endorsements and renewals. Jane also processes clients bills and transactions. |

Paul joined the Butterfield Agency in May of 2008 to become the fourth generation in the family business. He graduated from Miami University (OH) in 2008, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, and became a licensed “Property & Casualty” insurance agent soon after. In 2011 he earned his life insurance license as well. Paul went to Bath High School and graduated in 2004. He played football, ice hockey, and baseball in high school and played on the Miami Club Baseball team throughout college. He enjoys all sports and is currently an assistant varsity football coach at Bath High School, working with the receivers. Paul is proud to be a part of the family business and hopes he can continue the Butterfield’s great customer service long into the future. |
